Michael Hutchison is an artist and engineer from Scotland living and working in London.
Themes he uses art to explore include the illusion of permanence, the struggle of opposites, the irrational in a society favouring the rational and the contrast between manmade and organic forms.
Sources of inspiration come from literature, music, philosophy, science, the natural world and architecture. Still a practicing structural engineer he particularly enjoys the dichotomy between disciplines, using one to counterpoint the other.
